Pogo Linux was founded by Tim Lee and Erik Logan because they saw the impending acceptance and growth of Linux as an alternative operating system. One of the biggest challenges Tim and Erik saw was the growing chasm between Windows and Linux. They formed Pogo Linux in 1999 to offer the first $299 dual-boot PC which broke price barriers and gave users both Windows and Linux on a single desktop. Over the next few years, the company quickly evolved to provide servers, storage, and advanced solutions that cater to the growing storage market. The one advantage that ties all of the products together is that they are all engineered to work well with Linux and Windows.

The keystone of Pogo Linux is the diverse team of employees that drive the company's performance and respected customer service. Every new employee builds her own desktop PC or participates in a server build out to ensure that all levels of employees have a basic knowledge of hardware. Our non-technical office staff uses Linux on the desktop so we believe in what we sell.

In 2003, Pogo Linux responded to growing international demand for its products by opening an office in Shanghai, China. This office was created an independent operation that builds, markets, and sells its own products in China. Pogo Linux China is led by General Manager Dan Feng, who previously successfully managed Applied Material's foray into the China market.
